Modu makes its comeback
At last years MWC in Barcelona, Modu introduced a prototype of the Modu phone. Unfortunately because of launch delays the Modu phone hasn’t hit the market yet. This year Modu is back at MWC 2009 with their latest production model of the Modu phone.



Modu phone gets a jacket
The Modu phone is a tiny, modular handset which can be slipped into several so called jackets. On its own, the Modu phone is a music player and mass storage device (2GB) without a standard keypad. It can still make calls but for the rest the modular phone is pretty basic. Put into a jacket and you’ll have a fashionable phone with a multitude of functions. You can choose out of four different Modu jackets:

1. Modu classic jacket: all the essential mobile features for everyday needs
2. Modu night jacket: edgy keypad, flashing lights and night mode
3. Modu express jacket: playful design with lots of colours
4. Modu street-art jacket: stereo speakers and dedicated music keys

Modu phone release
It is expected that the Modu phone will be globally available in the second quarter of this year. The Modu phone will sell for 200 dollars with two jackets included. Additional jackets will retail for 25 dollars to 100 dollars each.
